R70 between Ficksburg and Rosendal Eastern Free State 9730 Directions

We recommend the following directions to Moolmanshoek Please provide an estimated time of arrival. NOTE: the gates closes at 18h00 and opens at 6:00. Later is R250 to open gate 1. From Gauteng via N3 • Take the N3 to Villiers, at Villiers turn off on R26 towards Frankfort, • From Frankfort you go to Reitz and from Reitz to BETHLEHEM. • In Bethlehem, turn left at Commissioner Street towards Fouriesburg and Ficksburg onto the R26. • Continue on the R26 after Fouriesburg for 40 Km some 3 km before Ficksburg, then turn right onto the R70 to towards Rosendal. • Continue straight for exactly 29km, just after the signpost Rosendal 10km sign then turn right onto the S384 gravel road where you see the Moolmanshoek signboard. • Continue straight for 7.5 km until you see the Moolmanshoek entrance gate ahead. • From the entrance gate drive another 1km and follow the lodge reception and restaurant parking signs. Or 2. From Gauteng via N1 Ventersburg • Take the N1 to Ventersburg. • Look for the R70 slip way towards Senekal. Ventersburg towards Senekal is approximately 35km until you get to the N5 Crossing. • At the N5 crossing turn left towards Senekal. • Drive into Senekal and as you pass Total Energies Filling Station, VKB Express Café and Steers on your left TURN RIGHT into Malan Street. • Continue through Senekal and just before the Silos take the second turn off to your right into a dirt road called Pierre Rosseau Street. • Continue on the dirt road for 30km until you reach the tar road R70. • At the R70 junction turn right towards Rosendal. • Carry on with this road, road works expected with stop and go +/- 6 km to Rosendal. • Just before Rosendal new tar road. • Exactly 10 km pass Rosendal turn left on onto the S384 gravel road where you see the Moolmanshoek signboard • Continue straight for 7.5 km until you see the Moolmanshoek entrance gate ahead. • From the entrance gate drive another 1km and follow the lodge reception and restaurant parking signs. From Bloemfontein 1. Take the N8 to Ladybrand. Just past Ladybrand take the R26 to Ficksburg. 2. On the R26 Just after Ficksburg turn left onto the R70 to Rosendal. 3. Continue straight for exactly 29km, just after the signpost Rosendal 10km sign then turn right onto the S384 gravel road where you see the Moolmanshoek sign. 4. Continue straight for 7.5 km until you see the Moolmanshoek entrance gate ahead. 5. From the entrance gate drive another 1km and follow the lodge reception and restaurant parking signs. From Durban 1. At Harrismith, turn onto the N5 towards Bethlehem. 2. In Bethlehem, turn left at Commissioner Street towards Fouriesburg / Ficksburg onto the R26. Scenic dirt road NOTE: This is a beautiful road over the mountain with lovely views, but if it is raining a lot, there can be some bad places. Unless youre driving a 4x4 vehicle, we suggest you take option 4 below 3. 20km past Fouriesburg turn right onto the S385. Follow this gravel road for 20km. Just keep going straight - dont turn anywhere - it will become the S384 until you see the Moolmanshoek entrance gate and turn right. From the entrance gate drive another 1km and follow the lodge reception and restaurant parking signs. OR 4. Or go straight on the tar road towards Ficksburg from Fouriesburg (for approximately 40 km). Some 3 km before Ficksburg, you turn right onto the R70 towards Rosendal. 5. Continue straight for exactly 29km, just after the signpost Rosendal 10km sign then turn right onto the S384 gravel road where you see the Moolmanshoek sign. 6. Continue straight for 7.5 km until you see the Moolmanshoek entrance gate ahead. 7. From the entrance gate drive another 1km and follow the lodge reception and restaurant parking signs. Scenic road via Clarens 1. When approaching via Harrismith, turn left onto the R712 towards Phuthaditjhaba a few km outside Harrismith on your way to Bethlehem. This road passes the Sterkfontein Dam on route to Golden Gate. 2. Drive through Golden Gate National Park and just before Clarens, turn left onto the R711 towards Fouriesburg.
